We're doing as much exercise as we can over the course of a week to raise money for Grayce's three Nominated Charities: Bookmark Reading Charity, Coffee4Craig and BLAM - Black Learning Achievement and Mental Health.
All three charities have seen their demand surge over the past two years:
Bookmark provides volunteers to improve literacy in primary school children. The pandemic has caused severe disruption to children's education. An 8 year-old child currently in Year 3's last "normal" year was when they were in Reception. Consequently Bookmark have seen a huge increase in demand to help children catch up with their reading ability.
Coffee4Craig provide support for the homeless population of Greater Manchester. In 2021, many of the emergency measures that were put in place during the height of the pandemic to keep people off the streets came to an end, so they are now seeing a huge rise in the number of people who need food, shelter and basic services as we approach the depths of winter.
BLAM aim to improve outcomes for Black Britons through community engagement programmes and education projects. After the events of 2020, there has been a far greater interest in the their work as they continue to expand and gain recognition for their positive dialogue of social identity and culture.
By using Collctiv, we can split all funds raised between these three charities without contending with mandatory platform fees. If you would like to leave a voluntary donation to help Collctiv, you can do so through the payment link.
